Body of teenage girl with slit throat found in Gombe

The body of an 18-year-old girl was found with the throat cut open in a ditch at Tumfure quarters in the outskirts of the Gombe metropolis.

Daily Trust learnt that the body was found yesterday morning.  

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Obed Mary Malum, told newsmen that the girl was suspected to have been murdered somewhere before her corpse was dumped where she was found. 

“The girl’s corpse was discovered by a passerby in a ditch behind the market, with the throat slit open, a scarf tied round her mouth and face burnt,” DSP Malum said.
